How To Install Combi Boilers

Combi boilers are some of the most popular units to have if you live in a small home or apartment or have a small building for your business. They do not cost as much the standard boiler because it is made with fewer parts and it works more efficiently than most others.

One of the most expensive costs is the installation process. Most people will hire a boiler contractor that can come in and measure the space it will be kept and install everything for you. You could save money and cut your budget down by installing it yourself. It is an easy process that does not take very long to do.

The first step is to know what type of fuel you will be using to power it. Ask around at your local home improvement store and ask about the different types available. It is often easier to use what other people in the area use and to find the one that you can afford and that will help it to run more efficiently.

When you know what type of fuel you will use than you can pick out the boiler model that you want. Make sure to measure the space where you are going to place it. These come in various sizes and you need to make sure that you don’t purchase something that is too large or small for your home.

Cut out a length of pipe that is long enough to reach the main pipeline. This pipe should also be able to reach the feed and returner that is situated on the combi boiler. Use a blowtorch and pipe bending spring to make a corner out of two pipes. Make sure to wear an eye mask and protective gloves.

When using natural gas you will have to use black threaded piping that will connect the boiler to the main gas line. If you are using propane than you need to connect the propane tank to the regulator on the boiler.

Turn the water supply on and fill the boiler with water. Make sure you have set the temperature based on what the user manual suggests and turn it on.
